During the last week or so, the Girls' vocab has really started to increase, which has been quite amusing for Mama and Papa. Of course, some of it is in Spanish and some in English. The other day when Areli was bringing the Girls back home in the stroller, Victoria was saying "No House" because apparently she didn't want to go back home. However, Areli as a native Spanish speaker did not understand her and said "No Entiendo, Victoria" (I don't understand you). Caroline then, realizing that Areli didn't understand her sister's toddler talk, responded by saying "!No Casa!" (No House!), at which point Areli understood completely. The sisterly Spanish-to-English translation has begun!
Today we went to the Botanical Gardens to see the Winter Wonderland Train exhibit which was totally cool for everyone. Victoria and Caroline were giddy as could be and loved all of the trains. We also took the opportunity to play in what remained of the snow up there (we have rec'd none in the City). This was probably only the second time the Girls have stepped on snow. Victoria was a bit deliberate and cautious, but Caroline took right to it. Recently, we have been very aware of Snowmen given Christmas and the Girls have incorporated 'Snowman' into their daily vocab. So we decided to make a couple of miniature snowmen, which the Girls helped assemble. They enjoyed it very much and then followed it by throwing snowballs on the ground which was also just as entertaining.
