It's a Zoo!

Sunny skies yesterday, but still a bit chilly in St. Louis.  We headed out to Forest Park and the Zoo.  The Girls' first animal spotting was a Black Rhino, but here they are w/ the Elephants.

As reported in US Weekly, here is Brooke Eby spotted at the St. Louis Zoo w/ her twin daughters :)

Then we headed to the Grand Basin in Forest Park, directly below the Art Museum.  We camped out on the grass for a short while.

The Girls were All-Stars all weekend!

However, Victoria did lose a sock when Dad brought them over to the Eagle cage.  Fortunately Mom spotted the bare foot and re-traced our steps and found the little pink sock!

Splish Splash

 A little R&R before the big introduction to the swimming pool.

 Followed by a brief tummy time exercise routine.  They both also love the colorful monkey!

You can't tell, but there were about 20 screaming kids in the pool, so the Girls were a little unsure of what to make of the whole thing.

But after a while, they took the water nicely and became quite comfortable.

 Another family loaned us this swim floater that Victoria sat in and became lulled into utter relaxation until....

.....she literally fell asleep while floating in the pool.  We need one of these in our house!

Later that night, we met up with Laura and Lance for Mexican.  A fine day in St. Louis!

Spring Break 2011!

Not exactly Spring skiing in Colorado, but hey, a road trip to St Louis by way of Champaign isn't bad for the Girls' first trip.

 Follinger Auditorium.  Note the further south we went today, the worse the weather was.  Here in Champaign, it was windy and quite cold.  By the time we reached St. Louis, it was a Spring Blizzard w/ 4-5 inches of snow and it is still coming down.  So much for warmer weather.

First Spoonfuls

We rolled out the the yummy rice cereal yesterday for the Girls.  Victoria took to it OK..........

but Caroline wanted no part of it...we'll try again today :).  The 3 ladies are off to Wheaton to see Grandpa today.

Squeaky Clean

Both Caroline and Victoria have really become accustomed to the counter-top spa treatment.  Mom was at Yoga this morning, so Dad was on bath duty.  It will be great when they can sit up in the tub because the kitchen floor is a puddle by the time they are done w/ the mini-baths.  Fortunately, everyone seems to be feeling much better now and just waiting for the warm-up this week and Daylight Savings Time!

An Early March

The Girls got a taste of an early March walk around the 'hood today.  Here are a few shots w/ the two of them and their buddy, Charlie Yarbrough, who is about 3 months old and lives a few blocks away.

5 months old

The girls turned 5 months old on Sunday.  It has been a non-stop party with Mom because Dad is in NY. 

Sitters

Thanks to Nonnie & Pop for babysitting C & V Saturday night, while Brooke & Brian went out for dinner/movie. However, there was not a good night's sleep for Brooke & Brian - both of the girls are still pretty under the weather, especially Caroline.  Still, there were a few good moments w/ Nonnie, Pop, and Auntie Kristin.

 After a Saturday night, V has the fuzzy hair going on w/ Nonnie.

For some reason, we have a lot of pics w/ various fabric on Caroline's head.  Here she is w/ Pop, who thinks her face always suggests a little mischief!

V also got in a quick visit with Uncle Chris.

Girl's Saturday Morning

We then brought the Girls for their first Whole Foods visit.  It was pretty much a baby parade in the store Saturday morning- one more baby-safe place for Brooke and I to go and enjoy..a cold beverage perhaps sometime.  In any case, they seemed to enjoy their stroll around the store- definitely more to look at than at home!

We started the day with an early Dr. appointment to see if there was more to the story with the girls' colds.  Fortunately, their ears and lungs are clear, so we just have to wait it out.  You can't tell by this photo that they are feeling under the weather at all!

Bath Time and Lounge Time

The Girls have really taken a liking to bath time, and don't mind the whole drying off process either.  Here is Caroline waiting for a new outfit.

And here is Princess Victoria.. 

Dad was busy at work this week, but was able to get some playtime in tonight w/ the Girls.  Looks like Caroline is outgrowing the pink PJs!
